A Popular Ice Cream Recall Is Hitting New York Stores
If you love ice cream, you need to check your freezer. There is an ice cream recall affecting New York. Surprisingly, things have slowed down when it comes to recalls. Or maybe they just aren't being reported to us as frequently anymore. Either way, it's been a minute since I've written about a recall. Just a couple of months ago, it seemed like I was writing about a new recall every other day.

At this point, if I had a food allergy, I might just opt to make my own food from scratch. There always seem to be recalls due to undeclared allergens, which, to someone who doesn't have an allergy, may not seem like a big deal, but could be deadly to someone with an allergy. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has issued a recall of its Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bar due to undeclared wheat and soy, according to the Food and Drug Administration. People who have allergies or sensitivities to wheat and/or soy could experience serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. A crunch topping from another product, which contains soy and wheat, was accidentally introduced to the Passion Fruit Dreamsicle product.
The recalled products have the batch code 25-210 on the top of the carton. They were sold at stores in New York and nationwide. If you purchased the product, you may return it to the place you purchased it for a refund. If you have questions or concerns, you can contact Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at 614-488-3224 Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
