Papa John's has been around for a while.  Somehow, we've never had one in Buffalo.  That's about to change.  We're getting one soon.  But will Buffalo care?

Years ago I tried Papa John's pizza while we were on spring break in Myrtle Beach.  It was really good.  Almost like, "some of the best I'd ever had from a franchise" good.  It was one of those things where you eat it, and you wonder how there isn't one in every city in America kind of good.

We see commercials for it all the time, but we don't actually have a franchise here in the city of Buffalo...yet. The closest we have is Amherst and Niagara Falls, and even that is nearly 15 miles away and out of their delivery range.  So if you want it, you've got to go get it.

According to Buffalo Business First, for the first time ever, Papa John's is coming to Buffalo:

The new restaurant is going to open at The Grid at 1155 Main Street in the city of Buffalo and should be up and running by the end of November.  The good news for them is that they're going to be in a pretty busy part of the city.  They're going to be adjacent to the medical campus.  They're also going to be open late.  They anticipate being open until 1 am during the week and probably around 2 am on the weekends.

The question is, will Buffalo care?  We've seen a couple of popular pizza places come and go.  Can Papa John's last in Buffalo?

Buffalo is one of those cities that fiercely supports their local pizza places.  Those mom-and-pop pizza places are what Buffalonians live by.

So will the convenience of being in a busy area that is close to downtown and in the heart of a working medical campus be enough to make them successful?
