It's hard to believe, but we're already at the end of July, and August is on the way. That means summertime in the 716 is in full swing, and while it's deep into summer, there is tons of fun left to do over the region.

Perhaps one of the year's most anticipated events is approaching, and I know that, like many other Buffalonians, I am genuinely looking forward to the Galbani Italian Heritage Festival.

The Galbani Italian Heritage Festival is a 3-day celebration showcasing the heritage, culture, and food of the Italian people who have made Buffalo their home and enriched our amazing communities with their contributions.

During the last week of July every year, thousands of people descend on North Buffalo to enjoy the festival and its amazing activities. There are many things to do during the weekend, so you often have to make sure you plan to attend multiple days to take it all in.

As a North Buffalo resident, I hope you have a lot of fun in my neighborhood as you spend the next few days eating, singing, dancing, stomping, and hanging out with family and friends (both new and old). However, before you come to our hood, please note that there are just a few rules that we North Buffalonians would sincerely appreciate if you took note of.

Please Park Legally

We all know how difficult it may seem to find parking in the City when coming to an event, but it's not that difficult. As a resident of the great city of Buffalo, I know there is plenty of street parking, and we neighbors love having you in our area, but please park legally. I have had my driveway blocked plenty of times because someone decided to park anywhere. Trust me, you will find no sympathy here if you get ticketed, booted, and/or towed.

Pick Up Your Trash, Please

Don't you hate it when someone comes into your neighborhood and throws their trash in your front yard? Well, so do we! Plenty of trash bins are all over Hertel Avenue, so please do us a favor and throw your trash away.

Remember, If You Need To Relieve Yourself, There Are Porta-Potties Everywhere

Does this need to be mentioned? Yes, yes, it does. Please do not use our yards as a toilet.

Have Fun, But Remember People Live Here

Buffalo has some of the most unique festivals in the world, and the best part is that we get to have a ton of fun while often eating great food. Just remember, as you walk around North Buffalo, people live here, so please treat our neighborhood like you want others to treat yours.

Buffalo's 48th Juneteenth Celebration, Parade, and Festival

Western New York celebrates its 48th Annual Juneteenth Parade and Festival on June 17, 2023, in Buffalo's MLK Park Neighborhood. The Grand Parade starts on Genesee Avenue and travels one mile before turning into the historic MLK Park where the festival takes place.
