It looks like some serious changes are coming to the Erie County Holding Center downtown buffalo.

According to WIVB and Sheriff Howard starting February 10th, there will be no visits on Mondays.

No, it's not because of bad behavior--it's a simple formula under the New York State Commission of Corrections visitation guidelines. The commission’s visitation formula is when you take the average daily inmate population from the past five years. From 2015 to 2019 The inmate population has decreased by 351 inmates (25%)

In the guidelines, it is required for a minimum of 28 hours of visits, and the sheriff chose to make 36 hours of visits thus cutting down on Monday visits.
