
Massive Recall Of Lunch Meat In New York
New Yorkers need to check their refrigerators as a massive lunch meat recall is underway. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that Gaiser's European Style Provisions Inc., of Union, NJ, is recalling approximately 143,416 pounds of ready-to-eat lunch meat. The bologna products being recalled contain meat or poultry source materials that are not declared on the product labels. The bologna products were distributed to wholesale and retail stores in New York and nationwide. Inside the USDA mark of inspection is the establishment number “EST. 5385”.
The products affected by the recall are:
- Vacuum-packed packages of “FAMILY TREE BOLOGNA VEAL,” which contain undeclared pork.
- Plastic-wrapped packages of “BABUSHKA’S RECIPE CHICKEN BOLOGNA,” which contain undeclared pork.
- Plastic-wrapped packages of “FANCY BOLOGNA,” which is labeled with pork as an ingredient but also contains undeclared beef and chicken.
- Vacuum-packed packages of “GAISERS RUSSIAN BRAND DOKTORSKAYA BOLOGNA,” which contain undeclared beef.
- Plastic-wrapped packages of “GAISERS BOLOGNA VEAL,” which contain undeclared chicken and pork.
- Plastic-wrapped packages of “GAISERS TURKEY BOLOGNA,” which contain undeclared chicken and pork.
- Plastic-wrapped packages of “CHICKEN BOLOGNA KYPOYKA PABA,” which contain undeclared pork.

"FSIS is concerned that the products may be in consumers’ refrigerators and freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. Restaurants and institutions are urged not to serve these products. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase."
