New York Governor Hochul Bets Kansas Governor Over Buffalo Bills Game
From local businesses promising to close early for their staff to be able to watch the game, to local stores taking Kansas City products off of its shelves, even to Buffalo Mayor Bryon Brown accepting a bet against Kansas City, Missouri Mayor Quinton Lucas, it seems that everyone is gearing up for this big NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. You can now add New York Governor Kathy Hochul to that list.

In a tweet posted on Friday, January 21, 2022, Governor Hochul placed a friendly bet against Kansas Governor Laura Kelly.
Even though the Kansas City Chiefs play their games just across the Missouri River in Kansas City, Missouri, Governor Hochul mentioned how competitive women have to be in politics and in business. She also talked about how competitive she is with her football. It's a well-known fact that Governor Hochul is a big Buffalo Bills fan, so it's no surprise that this bet was made.
How 'bout a bucket of chicken wings from Buffalo, for a basket of barbeque? I have my napkins all ready to dive into barbeque just next week. So what do you say, Governor Kelley? Go Bills!
-Kathy Hochul, Governor of New York
If for some reason you don't remember the last game between Buffalo and Kansas City, the Bills circled the wagons in Arrowhead Stadium on October 10, 2021, beating the Chiefs 38 to 20.
