As winter rages all over the Empire State, changing the way people have to live their daily lives, another thing is starting to ramp up that will do the same thing: change people's lives, but in a different way.

2026 marks an important year in politics for Americans generally and New Yorkers specifically. Not only is this year a Congressional midterm election, but it's also the year that we will elect a new (or the same) Governor for another 4 years to lead the Empire State into the next decade.

Current New York Governor, and Hamburg native, Kathy Hochul, is running for reelection, and she has a tough opponent that plans to battle against her for the Governor's office in Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. But, she also has some competition for someone in her own party, who's also a member of the current state Executive Branch.

New York Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado Makes A Campaign Stop In Buffalo

It was just about a year ago when the New York State Lt. Governor, Antonio Delgado, made a very public break from Hochul, saying essentially that he wasn't going to be part of her government team anymore. Now, in the months since, Delgado has publicly announced he's running against Hochul in the Democratic Primary, and he made a stop in Buffalo to try to convince people to support his bid for the Empire State's top job.

Delgado, who has been crossing the state on a listening tour, made his second trip to Western New York in the last few months to try to earn votes.

As the election begins to heat up, things are going to be much more interesting.
