What’s A Blizzard Bae, And Do You Have Yours?
By all accounts, it's been a pretty rough winter already, and we're barely a month into the official season. The last few days have been especially rough, thanks to the second polar vortex to hit the region. That weather phenomenon has brought extremely cold arctic air to the United States, which has caused all sorts of issues.
Several parts of New York have been under a State of Emergency with sub-freezing temps, below-zero wind-chills, and lots of lake effect snow. If that wasn't enough, schools and businesses across the state needed to shut down to try and help keep people safe and warm.

One of the key things that need to happen when a big winter event happens is to make sure you're prepared to hunker down and ride out the storm. Having the right supplies can truly make the difference between life and death in an emergency. However, often it seems people may forget the one thing that may make things bearable.
When dealing with extreme winter weather, it's sometimes easy to forget that cuffing season is in full swing. While some folks may be looking for the next love of their life, sometimes you just need someone to help you ride out the storm, and this is where your Blizzard Bae comes into play.
So What Is A Blizzard Bae?
Your Blizzard Bae, which some people may call a Flurry Friend, Avalanche Amigo/Amiga, or even a Snow Heaux, is a person that you decide to get snowed in with during a big winter weather event like a massive snowstorm.
Once you've locked down your Blizzard Bae, it's the perfect time to take the advice of former Buffalo Mayor Jimmy Griffin by staying inside with a few of your favorite adult beverages on deck, along with some good movies to watch and you're all set for to stay warm during the lows of the storm.
Just make sure that the person you choose to be your Flurry Friend is someone you actually like because you may be stuck with them for a while. You never know when the next travel advisory/driving ban will go into effect.
