Get $3,500 to Pay Your Rent or Mortgage if You’ve Been Affected By COVID-19
It seems like we will be dealing with this virus at least for the foreseeable future. New cases of the virus here in New York State are low but still on the rise. According to WIVB, if you on the verge of losing your home due to the Covid-19 pandemic there is a new program on the way to help.
According to WIVB, officials in Buffalo and Erie County are rolling out a program. A task force of non-government agencies is drawing $10 million from the CARES act funding to set up the Live Well Erie and Buffalo Renters and Mortgage Assistance Program.
This program is designed to help people who's life has been negatively affected by this pandemic. According to WIVB, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said.
Even though the eviction moratorium has been extended to Jan.1, 2021, If it's not extended and you have not paid your rent, then landlords have the ability to evict you.
If you qualify, you can receive $3500.00 to get caught up, but the applicants have to be able to show the direct link between them not being able to pay their rent or mortgage due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to WIVB, Mayor Byron Brown said.
Were working to do everything we can to prevent members of our community from being evicted from their apartments, or having their homes foreclosed upon.
The program will open Thursday, Oct.1st, you can apply by clicking here.
