Position Summary
As a highly visible staff member in the Office of the Vice Provost for Equity and Inclusion, the administrative staff assistant serves as a primary liaison with all parts of the university and a wide range of individuals including deans, vice presidents, vice provosts, and faculty throughout the units. This position provides professional support to the office of the Vice Provost for Equity and Inclusion (VPEI) and its reporting staff. The responsibilities of the position require strong organizational, communication and time management skills; attention to detail; the ability to work independently and to prioritize workload; an informed awareness of the university and a high level of commitment to customer service. The individual must be skilled and experienced in dealing with sensitive and highly confidential information and should have a heightened awareness and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion issues and concepts.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. One year of experience providing staff support in an executive office. The incumbent should possess demonstrated and strong organizational skills, have the ability to multi-task, possess excellent problem solving skills and be able to prioritize the work assigned to them. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical to the position. The incumbent should be proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications
Three to five years of progressive office experience, preferably in a college or university setting at the executive level. Experience supporting senior level administrators is preferred, as well as experience with social networking and web-content software.
