A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Buffalo and Erie County. January has been especially snowy and cold. Even though we're at the end of the month it is going out with a bang. This week we can expect more snow showers. The temperatures will be warmer than this past weekend, which is a silver lining. But tomorrow, you should leave the house early if you need to go to work, school, or anywhere else before 10 am.

There is currently a wind warning in place for several counties in WNY. The National Weather Service issued the warning until 6 am today, Tuesday, January 28, 2025, for Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Genesee, Wyoming, and Chautauqua Counties. Winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts of up to 65 miles per hour are possible.

The strongest winds, with gusts of up to 70 miles per hour, are expected in Niagara, Orleans, and Genesee counties. These winds can damage trees and power lines and create dangers for drivers. The NWS recommends that you stay away from forested areas and trees. Stay in the lower levels of your home and avoid windows. Be very careful if you need to drive anywhere.

The City of Buffalo issued an alert for the morning drive. The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 am today in Buffalo and Erie County. Expect two to four inches of snowfall with wind gusts as high as 65 miles per hour. The roads will be slippery and visibility will be low. Give yourself plenty of time if you must drive as the commute will be slow.
