The rap game can be so vicious. Last week, we almost lost YG when he was shot three times in the hip at a recording studio in L.A. Fortunately, the West Coast rhymer is recovering well, but still, there are concerns regarding the safety in the hip-hop community. Over the weekend, Meek Mill chimed in on the incident and gave some words of advice to YG.

The "Check" rapper went on Twitter and advised YG to "smarten up" after being shot "@YG let's smarten up..... We know what come with it. Let's get this money," he tweeted with an emoji of prayers hands to punctuate his heartfelt message.

There's still no clear reason as to why shots were aimed at YG, but Meek's tweet definitely serves as a strong piece of advice for all rappers. Last month, the rap community lost Chinx after he was fatally killed in Queens, N.Y.

In addition, Meek released a tribute song following the killing of Chinx aptly titled, "Miss My Dawgs." If you recall, Meek also released a tribute song dedicated to his fallen artist Lil Snupe called "Lil N---- Snupe," which lived on his Dreamchasers 3 mixtape.

Hopefully, all rappers take heed to his advice and begin to move carefully in these cold streets.
