The Buffalo Bills are arguably the best team in the NFL right now and it's been 30 years since a Bills fan could make that argument.

The only other teams in the same category right now are the Kansas City Chiefs (who the Bills play on Sunday) and the Philadelphia Eagles, who are the only undefeated team left this season at 5-0.

However, the Bills on the field product isn't the only major thing going on with the organization right now. The new stadium deal is another major storyline.

The Bills, Erie County and New York State agreed to a new $1.4 billion, open-air stadium to be built across the street from Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, earlier this year. The plan was to open by 2026.

However, the deal isn't 100 percent finalized to begin breaking ground. That's because the official binding deal between the Bills, county and state has not been signed off on and there's a deadline this weekend.

That agreement's deadline is Sunday, October 16th and on Friday morning, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz suggested an extension of the deadline would be announced soon.

Poloncarz also says that if there's no finalized agreement of the stadium deal or an extension, that the Bills have the right to then hold "relocation discussions."

Basically, the agreements have been reached but the negotiations on those agreements and the way the stadium is constructed (money being spent) all still needs to be finalized, which has been ongoing for weeks, according to Poloncarz.

Technically, the Bills do have the right to hold relocation discussions after Sunday if the agreement isn't finalized or extended, but it sounds like the deadline will be extended and that it's just going to take more time than we originally hoped.
