Mall Restaurants Not Included In WNY Phase 3 Openings

As WNY Phase 3 allows for inside dining today (link to a list of restaurants below), Mall restaurants are not allowed to open yet and Mall restaurant owners are infuriated and feel as though they are being tested unfairly, prompting a Press Conference today.

World of Beer manager, Chris Bolyard spoke out in support of the mall restaurants who are not included in Phase 3 openings today in WNY, according to a WIVB News report.

"We stand with the several food and beverage business that are unable to open in Phase Three whose livelihoods are at stake.  We’re all ready to get back to work to support our families, who are depending on us at this critical time".

According to the WIVB News report, the mall employs at least 500 mall workers.  The News article states that Mall management has made provisions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 with newly established safety and social distancing protocols.   The Pyramid Group, owners of the Walden Galleria Mall in Cheektowaga, are confused as to why Mall restaurants cannot open and feel they are being targetted, according to the WIVB report.  I searched the web for a specific reason as to why Mall restaurants cannot open yet but could not find an explanation.

Rochester, NY has the same issue with Mall restaurants and even some stores unable to open during Phase 3, according to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.
