These Are The 4 Best Loganberry Flavored Items In Buffalo

If there is something that Buffalo loves a lot, it has to be its food. Western New Yorkers love to eat and you don't have to look any further than all the different food festivals that we have around town.

Whether it's the National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival, the Italian Festival, or the Taste of Buffalo, we have a very special relationship with food. the food here is so good that the Taste of Buffalo was also recently rated as the best food festival in the entire country.

There are a few foods that Buffalo does better than anywhere else and of course, you know wings are one that list, but at the Taste of Buffalo, I was introduced to something that I wouldn't have expected to be so good.

I had the honor of being a food judge at the 2023 Taste of Buffalo and one of the items I had the honor of tasting was some Loganberry Cheesecake.

Oh. My. Gosh. Genevieve's Cheesecakes had a flight of cheesecakes for me to try and the Loganberry Cheesecake knocked my socks off.

Now, I am a general fan of Loganberry, the drink, but I didn't realize how good it would be as a food flavor. Which then had me wondering, what other good loganberry-flavored things exist?

What Is Loganberry?

Loganberry is an engineered berry that is a hybrid between the North American blackberry and European raspberry.

It was created by James Harvey Logan in the late 1800s by accident when he was experimenting with crossing different varieties of blackberries while living in California.

Loganberry was used in a variety of things over the last 100 years but gained a huge regional following when it started being served at Crystal Beach in Ontario. Southern Ontarians and Western New Yorkers fell in love with the flavoring and it lives on in all sorts of things.

You have to hand it to Hartmans Distilling Co. for taking a wholesome drink like Loganberry and deciding to make a vodka out of it - which I am a huge fan of by the way - just drink it responsibly.
