Former Player Hints That He Wants To Come Back To Buffalo
The Buffalo Bills made a huge splash in free agency last night, and it looks like there might be more in the works.
The Bills just announced that they have cut Cole Beasley. It's a move that a lot of people have seen coming for a long time now. The Bills gave Beasley permission to seek a trade a few weeks ago knowing that he would be a cap casualty. But the release could also mean that they're making more room to make another big move.
If Jordan Phillips has anything to say about it, it will mean that they're making room for the big man to come back to Buffalo again.
So that is pretty obvious to everyone. You would've expected that the Bills would've followed that post with one of their own saying that Jordan Phillips had agreed to terms with the Bills.
At the writing of this post, that instagram post was written 19 hours ago. So what is the deal? Is Phillips just trying to get back on the roster, or has he already made a deal with the Bills and they haven't announced it yet because of other formalities?
The Bills claimed Phillips off waivers in 2018 from the Miami Dolphins. He had a huge impact on the team. While playing alongside Ed Oliver, it gave offensive lines a fit trying to block them both. In 2019 he had 9.5 sacks from the Defensive Tackle position.
In 2020, Phillips signed with the Arizona Cardinals and has been there ever since. Yesterday he was released and the rumor was that we would see him signing with the Bills any minute.
We are still waiting.
