Miss Buffalo Does Well In Miss New York Competiton

Once again Western New York shined in the spotlight,

TV show host and anchor from Channel 4 Chelsea Lovell competed in the Miss New York competition over the weekend and did a great job.

WHAT IS THE MISS NEW YORK COMPETITION?

The Miss New York competition is a statewide competition that selects New York's candidates for the Miss America competition.

WHO IS PART OF THE MISS NEW YORK COMPETITION?

The competition is made up of local and regional winners including Miss Buffalo, Miss Adirondack, Miss Flower City, Miss Central New York, and others. In 2023, there were 23 competitors.

WHO WAS MISS BUFFALO?

This year's winner of Miss Buffalo is a familiar face in Western New York. Chelsea Lovell is an anchor and daytime talk show host on Channel 4. She is also a member of the Bandettes dance squad who perform at Buffalo Bandits games.

HOW DID MISS BUFFALO DO AT THE MISS NEW YORK COMPETITION?

Ms. Lovell did very well. She was named First Runner Up in the competition as well as named the winner of the Preliminary Gown competition.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR THE WINNER AND RUNNER-UPS OF THE MISS NEW YORK COMPETITION?

The winner Tayra Smith will now attend different events across the state. She will also compete in the Miss America competition. The runner-ups will fill in as needed if Miss New York can't make an appearance.
