With people all over New York State getting involved in the current county and local elections happening all over the state, people are getting ready to elect new leadership to direct where things will go in the Empire State.

If you poll any of your friends or family members, you are likely to get a variety of opinions on how good or bad things are going in your local village, town, or city. Some folks will think things are great, while others think things are terrible. Often, these feelings are not necessarily based on fact.

Have you wondered which cities across New York run well and which ones do not? There is a new survey out, ranking the top 148 cities in America using several metrics to determine which are the best and worst-run cities in the United States.

These Are The Top Five Worst-Run Cities In New York State

WalletHub compiled data from more than 140 cities in the United States, ranking them across over 25 different metrics to compile a list of the best and worst-run cities in America.

Even though WalletHub looked at cities all over the nation, we really only care about what happens in the Empire State, so we've broken down the details about the New York cities that made the list, and the results might not be all that shocking since we live here.

Of all the cities in New York, Syracuse ranks as the best-run in the state, according to the data compiled by WalletHub. Of the 148 towns, Syracuse ranks as the 82nd best (or worst)-run.

Buffalo comes in second on the list, ranking 105th out of 148, followed by Yonkers at 108th, Rochester at 124th, and New York City, which ranks near the bottom as the 145th worst-run city (out of 148).

Since no New York city ranked in the top half of the listing, I think it tells us something we already know.

The report and survey data gathered by WalletHub are quite interesting. You can read the full WalletHub report here.
