This is one that you have to see to believe.  A flight ending in Toronto yesterday somehow flipped onto its top after landing.

It's not a sight you see everyday.  A plane sitting completely upside down on a runway at an airport.  But that's what happened on Monday at Toronto's Pearson Airport.  USA Today said it was just an ordinary flight from Minneapolis.  There were about 80 people on board including the crew.

The plane appears to have landed and then flipped completely upside down.  The wing was ripped off in the process.

Watching that you might be wondering, "What happened that could have caused that plane to do that?"  A commenter pointed out what they saw saying,

"Right main gear collapsed causing right wing to dip into the ground and snap off. Left wing continued to generate lift, causing the plane to roll over. Wild."

The plane did start on fire for a moment but was quickly extinguished thanks to fire crews on the ground.  Only eighteen people were injured in the crash but everyone survived, which is incredible considering the scene.

If you've ever wondered why everyone needs to be in their seats with their seatbelts fastened when a plane touches down, now you know.  According to USA Today, these planes are engineered to handle being flipped on their backs like this without crushing the people inside.  They also design the wings and tail to break off in the event of a flip over just like this.

While this isn't the perfect scenario for any person who is taking a flight, it's the best case scenario in the case of an emergency.
