Massive Housing Announcement Thursday For Western New York
Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns will have a big announcement regarding housing and foreclosures this Thursday.
The County Clerk's office Tweeted information about a surplus of more than $6 million.
Kearns joined Clay and Company early this week, and hinted that the news on Thursday will be very revealing, and for some, a little scary. Over the pandemic, there were no foreclosures in clerk's office. Currently, Erie County has at least 7,000 people who are behind on their mortgages by at least 90 days. The numbers may get worse as we dig deeper towards a recession.
However, Kearns touched on the fact that there is more coming this Thursday that will have a large impact on the local housing industry. But, there is good news for those who fear the worst about their house. Erie County wants you to be able to keep your home and will have legal assistance and financial advice for those who may be struggling or can't keep up with their mortgages.
You are not alone and we want to help you, Kearns tells us. There is help, call my direct line 716 858 6985. We will get you in contact with FREE help for your mortgage situation. If you are behind on your loan, please stay in your home.
We have all heard the stories about people paying way over the asking price for their homes on the last two years. But interest rates are rising and the value of homes may be taking a hit. Will there be a rise in the amount of people who are upside down on their loans? It is not out of the realm of possibility.
