Thousands Enjoyed Good Vibes & Great Food At The Hood Taste of Buffalo [PHOTOS]
Summer time in Buffalo and Western New York is full of significant events to do just about every single day. Given that we only have about 3 months of warm weather, it often means our to-do lists are full to the brim with activities to get to.
If you were to ask any average Western New Yorker, they would likely all agree that Buffalo is a huge foodie city with a football, lacrosse, and drinking problem. It's easy to see why, with two great sports teams in the Bills and Bandits, plus tons of great food options all over the region, it's not difficult to see why we feel this way.
Just about every weekend, you can find all sorts of cultural festivals in the Buffalo area. From Juneteenth to the Italian festival, Dingus Day to the Erie County Fair, there is something for everyone in Western New York.
You can see this as clear as day with the fact that America's best food festival is right here in Buffalo. But, there is another two-day food festival in Buffalo that is now in its 6th year, that has been gaining a lot of steam and is full of even more samples of Buffalo's best food.
The Hood Taste of Buffalo Is Back For The 6th Straight Year.
Dilly Cannon started the Hood Taste of Buffalo in 2020, and it brings the same food festival energy as all the other festivals to Buffalo's Eastside.
It started as a joke between friends during the COVID-19 pandemic, but now it is visited by thousands of Buffalonians from all over the region.
Well me and group of friends was just sitting around joking about who can cook better and let’s have a cookoff... So basically it started off as a joke, which is now becoming one of best events in the summer
-Dilly Cannon, The Hood Taste of Buffalo Founder and Organizer
This year's Hood Taste of Buffalo takes place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, and Sunday, August 3, 2025, on East Ferry Street, near Kehr Street, in Buffalo, and celebrates food and culture with more than 140 different food and cultural vendors.
As an amateur professional food connoisseur in Western New York, I can say that I had plenty of great food and was very happy to loop around the HTOB several times. I wasn't alone as thousands of folks roamed around, eating food and having lots of fun.

With more than 100 different vendors at this year's festival, there was no way to try everything, but there were tons of things to try; from Pudgy Potatoes and Krys Kitchen to Hibachi Fried Rice, I tried just about everything.
If you missed this year's event, you truly missed out on a hidden gem of Buffalo.
