Summer days in Buffalo are often filled with people seeking all sorts of fun and exciting things to do. From the nightlife to finding a patio to enjoy the warm weather and great access to water we have, Buffalo remains a great, vibrant place to be. One of the things that helps make it that way is all the great art we have all over Western New York.

It's not hard to see why that is thanks to the amazing cultural organizations we have throughout the region.

Those cultural benefits in Buffalo increase exponentially when our business community teams up with institutions like the Buffalo AKG. When that happens, we often see greatness, which is exactly what happened on the corner of Bailey Avenue and Kensington Avenue in Buffalo as a local artist was able to unveil her latest creation thanks to a key partnership that is taking steps to make Buffalo better one piece of art at a time.

Bright sunny skies greeted a few dozen people who gathered at the corner of Bailey and Kensington in Buffalo’s University District to celebrate a new mural that was painted on the side of a brand new structure being built. The building, located at 3070 Bailey Ave in Buffalo, is the new home for Evergreen Health and affiliate Community Access Services, and the new mural was developed and installed thanks to a new initiative from the Buffalo AKG to give local artists more opportunities for their work to be highlighted. The new mural, which features two figures looking upwards, with bright smiles on their faces while flanked by a colorful sky that can be read as a sunrise, and standing together among a field of daisies, was created by Buffalo-born artist Bree Gilliam.
