2025 is going to be one of those years we talk about for a while to come. The summer concert, event, and show season has been one of those that has taken you far and wide to enjoy all that Western New York has to offer. From sports to music to food, Western New York and Southern Ontario are full of great events all over the place. There has been something to do just about every day since May. Now that summer is wrapping up, you would think that the event calendar would slow down, but it hasn't.
In a huge foodie city with a football, lacrosse, and drinking problem, Buffalonians love to eat. Which, of course, makes it a good thing that we have a food festival just about every weekend. Cultural festivals in the Buffalo area, like Juneteenth, Italian festival, Dingus Day, and general food festivals like the Taste of Buffalo and National Buffalo Wing Festival, always keep us busy. Sometimes those events are so good that organizers start thinking about ways to give the people more of what they want, and that's exactly what happened with the two-day Hood Taste of Buffalo food festival.

Dilly Cannon started the original Hood Taste of Buffalo in 2020, and he takes the same big Buffalo energy that other food festivals have, and he brings it to Buffalo's Eastside.
The 6th Annual Hood Taste of Buffalo in August was so good that he and a group of friends immediately thought it would be a good idea to close out the summer with a second Hood Taste of Buffalo.
The encore edition of the 2026 Hood Taste of Buffalo happened on Saturday, September 6, 2025, on East Ferry Street, near Kehr Street, in Buffalo, and celebrates food and culture with more than 140 different food and cultural vendors.
As an amateur professional food connoisseur in Western New York, I can say that I enjoyed this festival better than the last one.
It was easy for me and a few thousand other people to be able to loop around the grounds while stuffing our faces with great food.
With more than 150 different food and lifestyle vendors at the second festival, there is no way I can name them all, but several vendors get an honorable mention. Krys Kitchen, Hibachi Fried Rice. Trice's Tasty Treats, Buffalo Bistro, and The Sugar Shack all had great food.
Shame on you if you missed this year's second event; you really missed out on a hidden gem of Buffalo. Maybe they'll do a third one before the snow starts.
