Health Code Violations In Genesee County Last Month

Genesee County has published a list of restaurants that had health code violations during their latest inspections in January. Foodborne illnesses are a reality in America, even though we are a First World country. I'm sure you've seen plenty of food recalls and issues at restaurants in the news. There are food inspectors who visit restaurants and other places that prepare food, like American legions, churches, and schools. They grade each spot based on what they observe and ensure that the restaurants are following the food preparation protocols that help keep us safe. Their reports can include violations such as "Cooked or prepared foods are subject to cross-contamination from raw foods," and critical violations like "Potentially hazardous foods are not kept at or above 140°F during hot holding."
