Buffalo’s Powerhouse Women Take Center Stage at the 8th Annual Go Getta Mix & Mingle Toast

Each year, ADRI.V curates this networking experience to bring together the movers, shakers, and change agents of Western New York. Modeled after W.E.B. DuBois’ concept of the “Talented Tenth,” the event shines a well-deserved spotlight on ten dynamic women who are making history right here in the Queen City.

I’m so excited to be honoring such a dynamic group of women with the Class of 2025. Black History Month takes us straight into Women’s History Month, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate and love these sisters for everything they do.

But the celebration doesn’t stop there. The event also holds space for a more personal tribute. In memory of her late mother, ADRI.V will present the Crystal E. Viverette Resilience Award—named after the woman who inspired her Go Getta spirit. This year’s honorees exemplify strength, grace, and resilience:

  • Janique S. Curry – Owner & CEO, J.S. Curry & Associates | Owner of Secret Garden 716
  • Nekia Kemp – Executive Director, PAL of Buffalo
  • Rhonda Spates-Benton – Executive Plant Manager, USPS
  • Dr. Tonja M. Williams-Knight – Superintendent, Buffalo Public Schools

“She’s who I got it from,” ADRI.V says of her mother. “We chose this year’s Resilience Award recipients because every last one of them has that undying Go Getta spirit.”

This year, again, the event is taking things to the next level with the Entrepreneur Suite—a dedicated space highlighting and celebrating amazing women entrepreneurs. Guests will have the chance to explore and support a curated collection of local women-owned businesses that embody the Go Getta mindset. From beauty to books, fashion to wellness, the Entrepreneur Suite will be an inspiring activation within the night’s festivities.

The celebration will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM at Seneca One Tower. With DJ Brei on the turntables and a signature champagne toast to salute this year’s honorees, the night promises energy, elegance, and empowerment.
