As the return of school nears, there's help for Buffalo parents who may be struggling with getting their children the school supplies they need. Students in Western New York will head back to class on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, and things will be different than 2020 (at least for now). Kids will be back in class and on campus, which means they'll need things like book bags, pencils, paper, notebooks and other supplies they may not have used as much during virtual learning. The good news is that there is an upcoming school supply giveaway to help parents and students in need.

Saturday, September 4, 2021
Council Member Nowakowski and Legislator Howard Johnson will host their Second Annual Backpack Giveaway & School Supplies Drive on September 4. There will be music, fun for the kids, a bike helmet giveaways, a bike raffle, food, and a backpack giveaway. If you would like to receive a backpack for your child(ren), please pre-register here (pre-registration does not guarantee you will receive a backpack). There is a limit of one backpack per family if the child is not present at the event. If each child is present, a maximum of four backpacks will be provided. Supplies will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis.
