Chicken Sausage Recall In New York Due To Contaminates
Another day, another recall. I think this is the fourth time I've typed those words this week. It's getting riduclous how many recalls there are of food products lately. What's worse is that they are for things that could seriously harm or kill someone. There was recently a pork recall in New York due to undeclared allergens. People might not think it's a big deal, but for those who suffer from food allergies, it could be a life or death situation. Turkey bacon has also been recalled in New York recently due to a possible bacteria contamination. Yum!
I guess we should be grateful that they are caught, right? But, if you think like me, you wonder about all the ones that weren't caught.

It seems like none of our food is safe anymore. Both resturants and food manufacturers are failing their health code inspections. The latest recall to hit New York is of chicken sausage. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, Kayem Foods Inc. of Chelsea, Massachusetts, is recalling approximately 24,173 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken sausage products.
The products pose a hazard to New Yorkers who consume them. The chicken sausage is contaminated with a foreign object, specifically white pieces of plastic. The sausage was produced on June 28, 2025. The product at the center of the recall is:
11-oz. vacuum-packed packages containing four pieces of “ALL NATURAL al fresco CHICKEN SAUSAGE SWEET APPLE with Vermont made syrup” with lot code “179” and “USE/FRZ BY” date “OCT 01 2025” printed on the back package label.
The packages of chicken sausage have the establishment number “P-7839” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were distributed to stores in New York and nationwide. The problem was discovered after three consumers complained to the USDA. There have been no reports of injuries. If you have the product in your refrigerator or freezer, you should return it to the place of purchase for a refund or toss it. You can view the product packaging here.
