This morning news that a teenage girl died from gun shot wounds in Riverside rippled down my timeline on social media. Now Buffalo Police have identified the 17 yr old and are asking for help in finding her killer.

Two big bangs were heard around 10:30pm Thursday night on the 300 block of Ontario Street between Crowley and Riverside Avenues in Riverside, NY killing Shmerea Nailor. Her bike and body was found near St. Marks church.

Shmerea was a senior and played basketball at Burgard High School, where the mood is somber and full of tears today. Her family called her an "all-around good kid." Her family said she frequently rode her bike around late at night and believes she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"She was just 17. She was getting ready to graduate, she went to school. She was not a bad girl. And I just want somebody to please come forward," pleaded Nailor's grandmother.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Buffalo Police confidential tip line at 716-847-2255.
