Fans Officially Allowed at the Bills Home Playoff Game
The news that has been rumored the last several weeks has been finally made official.
According to Governor Andrew Cuomo, the New York State Department of Health and the Buffalo Bills have come to an agreement to allow 6,700 fans inside Bills Stadium for the Bills' first home playoff game in 24 years.
Fans who attend the game must practice social distancing and wear masks at all times, from the moment they leave their vehicle to inside the stadium. All fans entering the stadium will also be tested beforehand. Fans will have to show proof of a negative test 72 hours prior to entering the stadium. Also, those who attend will be subject to contact tracing to see the impacts.
Fans will be sitting in separate groups from one another to practice social distancing.
Governor Cuomo says this is a pilot program that's a first of its kind across the nation.
Even though 6,700 fans will be allowed inside the stadium for the game, there will be no tailgating or congregating allowed outside Bills Stadium, as those activities are prime spreaders, according to State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker.
As for tickets, according to the Buffalo Bills website, approximately 6,200 tickets will be made available for purchase on December 31 (tomorrow) to Bills season ticket members, who opted into purchasing tickets earlier this year. Season ticket members will be made aware based on "seniority."
Club season ticket members will receive an email on December 31, while non-club season ticket members will receive an email on January 1.
