Fake Beats Seized At New York – Ontario Border
Having a great set of headphones can go a long way to helping you have a wonderful day working or playing.
However, having a set of counterfeit headphones might not be as sweet as having the real thing. Especially if you happened to pay full price for a set of fakes.

According to an announcement made by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a large shipment of nearly 200 pairs of counterfeit Beats by Dre Tour Headphones were found during a routine cargo inspection at the Champlain Port of Entry Cargo Facility in Champlain, New York.
The contraband headphones were found wrapped in zip lock bags and appeared to be of poor quality with no labels or invoices. After further inspection, CBP Officers were able to determine the fake Beats had a street value of more than $25,000.
Our dedicated CBP officers continue protecting our economy and consumers from counterfeit goods... They do a tremendous job in their role to protect consumers and businesses from fraudulent items.
-Steve Bronson, Director of the Port of Champlain
As an audiophile and someone who owns lots of Beats headphones, I am happy to hear that these fake Beats won't make it on the streets.
The officers of US Customs and Border Protection have been pretty busy lately. Recently officers were able to knab a fugitive who had been on the run after child exploitation charges, and we're always hearing about some criminal who makes a wrong turn at the Peace Bridge and ends up in a lot of trouble.
