An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car while riding a mobility scooter in Buffalo.

An 86-year-old woman was struck by a car and killed in Buffalo, according to WIVB. Buffalo Police are investigating the accident, which happened at the intersection of Ellicott Street and Virginia Street around 5 pm on Friday. Accident investigators told Channel 4 that a vehicle was turning left and hit the woman, who was riding a mobility scooter.

The woman was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where she died overnight. The driver did not flee the scene and is cooperating with police. The investigation is ongoing and a cause has not been determined.

Car Crashes Into Fruit Belt Home

Another crash happened in Buffalo this weekend. A car crashed into a home in a Fruit Belt neighborhood around 3 am Saturday. The home is located at the corner of corner of Carlton and Lemon Streets, according to WGRZ. The accident caused serious damage to the home. This is not the first time a car has crashed into the home. The owner, Sherry Middlebrooks, told Channel 2 that a person crashed into her porch in September.
