
Entire Eastern Region Of The United States Has Had Snowfall This Year
As we inch through February and get ever closer to spring, there are people from New Hampshire to North Carolina who are hoping it gets here even quicker than it is going to happen.
The 2025/26 winter weather season has been pretty busy all over the county, with several areas getting tons of snow, coupled with extreme cold. Now, while this is normal in some states in New York State, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire, it is not normal in Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, and other eastern states.
Given the fact that the cold and snow aren't going anywhere anytime soon, thanks Phil and Dave, weather professionals are noting that a very rare phenomenon has happened this year, and it has some people really scratching their heads.
The Whole East Coast Has Seen Snow This Year
According to data that was recently released by the National Weather Service, it seems that the entire Eastern Region the NWS is responsible for tracking has received measurable snow this year. Something that does not happen very often.

From Mount Washington, New Hampshire, and Caribou, Maine, to North Charleston, South Carolina, and Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, and just everywhere in between, snow has fallen.
That is a significant fact to note, because in Savannah, Georgia, for example, they have an annual average of 0.0 inches of snow. However, this year, 1/2 of an inch of snow has fallen in the city that is best known for its tropical summers and very short and very mild winters.
However, this winter season has been anything but short or mild.
Now, even though we've seen a ton of snow this winter season, there are still plenty of areas in America that are dealing with drought, and things do not look like they're going to improve anytime soon.
