Do You Think It’s Okay for Kids in Christian Households To Dress-Up and Trick-or-Treat for Halloween? [POLL] [VIDEO]
Halloween is probably one of the most misunderstood and controversial events / holidays we recognize (celebrate) in the United States... but do we REALLY know what's being celebrating? I did some research.
According to Wikipedia; Halloween's original title was "ALL HALLOWS EVE". Halloween was referred to as "All Hallow's Eve" to designate it's celebration taking place on Oct 31 each year...the evening before the Western Christian feast called, "The Feast of All Hallows".
The Christian event, "All Hallow's Eve" (also know as "All Saints Day", "All Soul's Day", "Hallomas", and "Hallotide") was a day set aside by Christians to remember and recognize Saints who has passed and pray for them. Halloween, in the same vein, was a Pagan celebration also set aside ...on Oct 31 each year...to do the same...although it celebrated the dead...not necessarily only the Saints.
