If your child is under the age of 3, you will have to consult your child's pedtricion to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the CDC, there are two choices of vaccines for kids under the age of 5.

  • Children 6 months – 4 years of age are eligible for three shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. The initial two doses are administered three weeks apart, followed by a third dose administered at least eight weeks after the second dose. The two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has already been authorized and available for children 5 years and older.
  • Children 6 months – 5 years of age are eligible for two shots of the Moderna vaccine, given one month apart. The vaccine had been authorized for use in adults 18 years of age and older.

Vaccines for children down to six months of age are available statewide. Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact their child's healthcare provider about scheduling a vaccine appointment for children under five years of age.
