Join Yasmin Young at the community book drive on Friday, April 21st at Wegmans, 5275 Sheridan Dr., Williamsville! She'll be there from 11 am to 1 pm, when the Library on Wheels Bookmobile will be on-site. Storytelling for children takes place inside the store at 11 am and 1:30 pm.

If you can't make it out on the 21st, you can donate a book, at the WBLK studio between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We're located on the 12th floor of the Rand Building, at 14 Lafayette Square. The Books for Kids campaign's goal is to collect books, so all WNY area children can enjoy the gift of reading. This year the book drive runs through April 30, 2017.

We would love to have you come by the station, but if you can't make it downtown, you can also donate books at the following locations:

All Wegmans in Erie & Niagara counties
All Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries
The Buffalo News, corner of Washington and Scott streets, downtown Buffalo
All Dipson Theaters
All WNY Mattress Firm locations
All Raymour & Flanigan locations
Tom’s Restaurant, 3221 Sheridan Drive, Amherst

“Our 37 Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries love being a part of this initiative, which has achieved greatness by getting 2.5 million donated books into the hands of local children,” said Library Director Mary Jean Jakubowski in a press release about the Books for Kids campaign.

Donations to purchase books for children with special needs are also welcome and will be used to buy Braille, large-print and other specialized books.
