Local Businesses To Give Cars To Veterans and First Responders
The people of Buffalo and Western New York are generous. In fact, they are incredibly generous. Every time you turn around, you hear about another charity event, community giveaway, or donation event.
That just happened last week when Buffalo Bills fans teamed up to give thousands of dollars to The Tua Foundation, the public charity created by Tua Tagovailoa after she was injured in the Buffalo vs. Miami NFL game. It also happened at the end of the summer when several businesses teamed up to gather thousands of school supplies for students in Western New York.
Buffalo's need for giving knows no bounds, and that big heart will be on display again as a family of auto dealers is doing something very special for veterans and first responders in Western New York.

On Friday, September 20, 2024, the Basil Family Dealerships is teaming up with the Veterans One-Stop Center of Western New York to do something extremely generous for the community. The Vehicles for Vets and First Responders program, which is in its 8th year, will donate four cars to those who serve and protect our nation and communities. Two cars will be awarded to First Responders, and two cars will be awarded to veterans.
Veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders were able to enter this contest all this past summer, and twenty entrants have been chosen to be finalists. A ceremony will be held at Buffalo Riverworks on Friday, September 20, 2024, at which point four winners will be randomly selected.
In addition to the ceremony, there will be raffles, live music, and a presentation by Army SSG Travis Mills, an Afghanistan War Veteran and quadruple amputee.
