We have recently lost two rap legends who both ironically have ties to Buffalo, New York. First DMX passed away after being on life-support following a reported drug overdose, which has yet to be confirmed. DMX has strong ties to the Queen City where one of his daughters resides. On Facebook, many local residents took to the app to share their experiences with the rapper during the times he visited our city which was frankly quite often according to many. Although DMX had a troubled past, the memories of the rapper also known as Dark Man X were upbeat, heartwarming and some being down-right hilarious shining him in a positive light.

In a bizarre turn of events, another great rapper of our time Black Rob who made his debut under Diddy’s Bad Boy Records sent DMX well wishes from what appeared to be his death bed as well. Fans were instantly stricken with concern for the “Woah!” rapper while simultaneously praying for DMX’s grave condition to turn around and sadly it never did. After X’s passing the world’s attention turned to Black Rob’s health status and sadly he passed away shortly thereafter. Unknowingly to many, the Harlem NY rapper real name Robert Ross was actually born right here in Buffalo, New York. Although his exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed, it’s being speculated that it may have been kidney failure per a statement made by DJ Self.

The rap and music community as a whole are reeling from the loss of these amazing contributors to the hip hop culture and will forever be memorialized through their music that is so loved by many. Rest in peace to them both.
