After the long and weird winter we've had this year, I know if you're anything like me, you've accumulated a large surplus of junk bulk trash and you're finally ready to do some spring cleaning and clear your basement or garage. You'll soon be able to toss most of that stuff out with your regular trash.

Twice every year the City of Buffalo has curbside bulk trash pick-up for city residents and city officials have recently released the dates that bulk trash can be thrown out for Spring 2023.

Starting in early April, you'll be able to put out a pile of trash that put to 12 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 3 feet high containing your typical household trash. Items like appliances, couches, furniture, etc. are perfectly fine to toss out.

This is a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning in preparation for the summer full of fun in the sun we're going to have this year.

While lots of different trash items are acceptable, there are quite a few things you should not toss out in your bulk trash. Items like TVs, computers, construction materials, tires, and paint are not allowed to be tossed out. Those items need to be disposed of in a special way.

In 2023, we will once again offer Spring and Fall Bulk Trash Collection. I ask City residents to follow the guidelines on the amount and type of items that can be put out for collection... I also ask residents to get their bulk trash to the curb on the Sunday of their designated collection week as pick-ups will take place Monday through Saturday, not just on their regular garbage day.
-Byron Brown, Mayor of Buffalo, New York
