Now that spring has rolled into the region, many people all around Western New York are being reminded of the fact that the Buffalo area truly only has two seasons: winter and construction.

It was just a few days ago when officials from the New York State Department of Transportation let us know about a massive road repair project that's taking place all over the Empire State, and now officials from the City of Buffalo have released what may be one of the most coveted lists in the region: the annual list of streets in the city limits that will be repaved this year.

With more than 1,600 miles of roads in New York State's second-largest city, making sure all the roads are in good condition is a pretty daunting task. Historically, using data from complaints to City Hall and research from the streets and sanitation department, the city comes up with a list of streets that need the most immediate attention, and then they work throughout the spring and summer to resurface those streets.

Buffalo To Repave Dozens Of Streets Across The City

In a post on social media, Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan announced the annual list of streets to be repaved is out and that the city is using a new partnership to improve the process for determining which streets have the greatest need for repair.

Across the 9 city council districts in Buffalo, dozens of streets have been identified to be milled down and resurfaced.

While the city is looking to repave these streets, that's not all of the roadwork that will be done this year. City workers will be fanning out across the city, doing spot repairs to potholes and correcting other road damage. You can find a complete list of all the streets that are scheduled to be paved here on the City of Buffalo Website.
