Man Accused Of Shooting At Buffalo Police Acquitted Of All Charges
Buffalo's Fruit Belt neighborhood was a witness to a wild scene a few years ago when an incident between a citizen and police broke out. Now, nearly three years later, we appear to have reached a resolution that has caught several members of the legal community by surprise.
Communities all over the nation are no stranger to the concept of violence, especially in the warmer months when more people come outside. June and July often see crime rates increasing in places like Buffalo, and three years ago, a dangerous situation occurred when Buffalo Police and a Buffalo man were caught on police body camera shooting at each other.
Back on Sunday, July 24, 2022, Buffalo Police Officers arrested then 36-year-old Shariff Shadwick and charged him with several crimes, including first-degree attempted murder, after they accused him of shooting at officers. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident that was caught on body camera video.
Buffalo Man Accused Of Shooting At Police Found Not Guilty
Shadwick's trial began earlier this month on June 9th, and prosecutors presented evidence that they believed would allow the jury to convict him and send him to prison. However, it seems the jury didn't agree and ultimately found Shadwick not guilty of all charges.
According to the Buffalo News, it's believed that the jury found multiple issues with the police department's investigation and the testimony that was given by Buffalo Police Officer Ryan Hofschneider.
It in fact seems that the evidence presented had some incredible inconsistencies, which prompted the jury to acquit Mr. Shadwick on all charges.
