Buffalo Police are seeking the public's help in identifying suspects in a New Year's Day shooting. The incident happened at a gas station on Fillmore Avenue on January 1, 2025. The shooting happened at approximately 3:30 am, according to the Buffalo Police Department. Officers from BPD's District C arrived on the scene where they determined there was a shooting, but no victim was present.

A 41-year-old man, who matched the description of a person present at the gas station, was admitted to Erie County Medical Center with a gun shot wound to the chest. He was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. This person was later identified as the instigator of the shooting, not a victim. Police say he shot first and then was struck when the robbery victim returned fire. The suspect who was injured was arrested on Thursday, January 2.
