WGRZ's team of meteorologists gave out their predictions of how much snow we will get in Western New York.

So where does this prediction land on the list of the Top 10 snowiest winters of all time?

Well, see for yourself. Here are the snowiest winters we have had in Buffalo since the National Weather Service started tracking annual snowfall.

10. 120 inches - 1944-45
9. 124.7 inches - 1957-58
8. 126.4 inches - 1909-10
7. 129.9 inches - 2013-14
6. 132.4 inches - 2001-02
5. 132.5 inches - 1983-84
4. 141.1 inches - 1995-96
3. 154.3 inches - 1977-78
2. 158.7 inches - 2000-01

And the snowiest winter ever on record in Buffalo, New York is:

199.4 inches in 1976-77.

So it looks like the 95 inches of snow predicted for the City of Buffalo is well below making it into the Top 10 snowiest winters ever on record.

In fact, 95 inches is the annual average of snow that Buffalo gets every year. So this winter shouldn't be any different than what we saw over the past could of years.

Believe me, I am glad we are not looking at Top 10 snow this winter. While the snow is nice for skiing and snowboarding, shoveling 6 feet of snow from the roof of your home is no picnic.

Of course, this is just a prediction. If the weather hits just right and the lake is still warmer than usual we could see plenty of lake-effect snow which could bring the total of this year's snowfall to record amounts.
