Congratulations to Buffalo Native, Claudine Ewing as she becomes the new WGRZ Weekend News Anchor replacing long-time Anchor Ron Plants.  According to the news story, Claudine will Anchor the 6, 10 & 11 pm Saturday and Sunday Newscasts.

Claudine Ewing has been a huge contributor to WGRZ since 1998. She was in radio after she graduated from Buffalo State College with an honors degree in broadcast journalism, according to a WGRZ news report.

Claudine Ewing's Accomplishments:

  • 2019 - Won an Emmy Award for Scott Brown's final story on the gift of life.
  • 2019 - Won the NABJ award and New York State Broadcasters Award for the Valentino Dixon story.
  • Claudine is also the Host of the WGRZ Public Affairs program"commUNITY."

Claudine's 'life motto', according to the news story is,

"Expect nothing, appreciate everything, keep grinding!"

Ron Plants will still remain with the station on a part-time basis in another capacity off the air, according to the news story.
