Buffalo Man Charged with Attempted Murder, Shot Into Car with Child in It
A Buffalo man has been charged with attempted murder and child endangerment after he shot into a parked vehicle with a child in it.
The 26-year-old suspect, Ivan Gilbert, has been charged with several felonies and a misdemeanor in connection to the shooting, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
One count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “B” felony
One count of Assault in the First Degree, a Class “B” felony
One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” felony
One count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” misdemeanor
The shooting happened on October 14, 2020, around 11 pm. Gilbert allegedly fired multiple shots into a vehicle that was parked on East Amherst Street in Buffalo. A 4-year-old child was seated in the back seat of the car. The victim was shot in the neck. Buffalo Police found Gilbert trying to get rid of the illegal gun. He is due back in court on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He's being held without bail. Gilbert is facing up to 25 years in prison, if he is convicted on all charges.
