Buffalo's Kitchen Club Returns With A New Team And Fresh Direction

Some places serve food. Others create experiences. Buffalo Kitchen Club has always aimed to do both.

When Buffalo Kitchen Club first opened its doors in 2022, it quickly became one of those spots where good food, good people, and great conversations naturally came together. It wasn't just another restaurant, it became a place where Buffalo gathered. And to me it was where I always enjoyed being at. Although the business closed in 2024 because of capacity-related challenges, the vision behind it never disappeared.

Fast forward to July 2025, when Yolanda Smith reached out to original owners Shawn and Raelean McGee to talk about bringing Buffalo Kitchen Club back to life. By September 2025, Yolanda and her husband, Will Smith, officially partnered with the McGees to relaunch the business with a fresh vision and a new level of intention. When I heard this news I was so excited. I always loved the ambiance of Kitchen Club and when I would make my way to the Kitchen Club I knew I would walk in to a smiling face from Yolanda and she knew exactly what I was there for each time. This kind of hospitality is hard to receive but Yolanda and her team are serving it up well.

Yolanda brings years of leadership experience, operational expertise, and a passion for community-building. Her focus has been on creating systems, elevating the guest experience, and building a space that feels welcoming while operating with excellence. That vision is helping shape the next chapter of Buffalo Kitchen Club.

Today, Buffalo Kitchen Club is more than a place to grab a meal. It's becoming a destination where culture, cuisine, and community connect. Whether you're stopping in for brunch, meeting colleagues during happy hour, or attending one of its networking events, the goal is to create meaningful experiences that keep people coming back.

Since officially reopening on May 20, 2026, Buffalo Kitchen Club has been welcoming guests into a refreshed space with an exciting lineup of brunch favorites, curated happy hour experiences, and events designed to bring together entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, and community leaders.

As someone who loves highlighting the people and places helping move Buffalo forward, I appreciate seeing businesses that don't give up after facing challenges. They regroup, refocus, and come back even stronger. Buffalo Kitchen Club is doing exactly that. Sometimes the best comeback stories are served one plate at a time.

African American Cultural Center Pine Grill Jazz Reunion

For 37 years, the African American Cultural Center has kept the spirit of one of Buffalo's most iconic cultural landmarks alive through this annual gathering. For two weekends, Martin Luther King Jr. Park is filled with music, food, laughter, and familiar faces as generations come together to celebrate a piece of Buffalo history.
