Buffalo Bill Surprise Visits Elementary School To Inspire Next Generation
When you are in the spotlight, you have an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives -- especially in young kids. One Buffalo Bills player is aware of this, and that is why he spent part of his Tuesday at an elementary school.
The kids at Harriet Ross Tubman School were in awe of the visiting Buffalo Bills wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, who visited the school to talk with the next generation of children on Tuesday.
Sanders also stopped by the elementary school to restart his charitable foundation, which is called the Emmanuel Sanders Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to provide children from financially disadvantaged families with the resources and support to grow into all that they are capable of -- without any restrictions.
Sanders wants kids to be able to reach their full potential, and he has always wanted to find a way to give back to children, even when he first joined the NFL.
“I have to find a way to be able to give back because so many people gave back to me,” Sanders said.
Throughout Sanders’ childhood, he often looked to others for someone he could look up to, and now he is determined to be the motivating figure for young kids -- someone that they can admire.
Sanders spoke with the students of Harriet Ross Tubman School and told them of three things they should carry with them as they grow older: determination, hard work, and focus.
Harriet Ross Tubman School is the first school selected to be part of the Emmanuel Sanders Foundation, but this is only the start of Sanders’ mission.
So far, they have helped put kids in sporting camps in general and there is more to come in the foundation’s future.
