Top Health Code Violations Found In Genesee County Restaurants

Genesee County has published a list of restaurants that had health code violations during their latest inspections in March. Foodborne illnesses are a reality in America, even though we have strict hygiene rules. There have been plenty of food recalls and issues at restaurants in the news this year. That's why it is so important to support the restaurants that passed their health code inspections.

Food inspectors visit restaurants and other places that prepare food, like American Legion, churches, and schools. They grade each based on what they observe and ensure that the restaurants are following the food preparation protocols that help keep us safe. Their reports can include violations such as "Cooked or prepared foods are subject to cross-contamination from raw foods," and critical violations like "Potentially hazardous foods such as salads prepared from potatoes or macaroni are not prepared as recommended using prechilled ingredients and not prechilled to 45°F or less as recommended before they are stored on buffet lines."
