Body Found in U-Haul Truck in Buffalo
The Buffalo Police Department is investigating after the body of a man was found in a U-Haul truck.

The body was found on Sunday, August 2, 2020, according to WKBW. The U-Haul truck was located on Herkimer Street. Police found the body of a man, who had been shot to death, inside it. The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Erie County medical examiners will conduct an autopsy on the man.
According to data from WKBW, there has been a 48% increase in shooting incidents in the City of Buffalo. From January 1 to June 29, 2020, there have been 95 shootings, including many fatal shootings. During the same time a year ago in 2019, there were 64 shootings. When you break the numbers down even further, homicides are up 82 percent from last year. In 2020, so far, 31 people have been murdered, according to WGRZ. Last year during the same time there were 17 homicides.
Since the recent spike in gun violence, groups like We Pump 716 and Most Valuable Parents of Buffalo have been trying to unite the community to help stop the shootings. There was a rally this Saturday, hosted by We Pump 716 and Matti Rouse. MVP has launched a campaign to try to figure out where these guns are coming from. We need everyone in Buffalo, who is concerned with gun violence, to try to help stop it!
