There is a driving ban now in effect for the City of Buffalo! Mayor Byron Brown issued the ban, which is effect until 7 am on Thursday (January 31). Mayor Brown put the ban in effect due to heavy snow causing treacherous driving conditions on city roads. He declared a limited state of emergency just after noon today. Mayor Brown said during his press conference, "I cannot stress enough, no unnecessary travel!" If there is any good news, it is that parking meters and paid parking fees will be suspended on Thursday, according to WIVB. City Hall will be closed tomorrow, as well as a number of other government offices and businesses.

According to WGRZ, the National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for Erie, Genesee and Wyoming Counties, which is effect until 1 am on Thursday.  Visibility can be reduced to zero due to winds blowing accumulated and falling snow.  Please do not travel, unless it is an emergency or absolutely necessary!!
