It was a matchup that fans across the country had looked forward to, ever since it was announced last Sunday night.

The Bills hosting the New England Patriots for what would be the first full capacity home playoff game in Orchard Park in over 25 years. It would also mark the first postseason game between Buffalo and New England since the merger, and the Patriots have been the Bills' arch nemesis for the past 20 years.

It was a dream matchup for the NFL, which is why they put it on Saturday night.

It was a blowout.

The Bills beat the Patriots by a score of 47-17.

Everything went right for Buffalo on offense, as quarterback Josh Allen had his best night ever as an NFL quarterback, passing for over 300 yards and five touchdowns, along with adding 66 yards rushing.

The Bills receivers had a field day against the Patriots defense, and leading the way was tight end Dawson Knox, who caught five passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

Running back Devin Singletary was one of Buffalo's best players tonight as well, rushing for nearly 100 yards and a touchdown.

The Bills defense gave rookie quarterback Mac Jones problems all night long, as he threw two interceptions, with one going to safety Micah Hyde and the other to cornerback, Levi Wallace.

This game was 20 years of frustration being unleashed by the Bills and pouring it on a Patriots team who dominated the AFC East and the conference for 18 years.

The Bills now wait to see who they will face in the divisional round. If the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Arrowhead Stadium tomorrow, the Bills will travel to Kansas City.

If the Steelers pull off one of the biggest upsets in NFL playoff history, the Bills will host the Cincinnati Bengals at Highmark Stadium next weekend.
